Near the end of 2008, I noticed I had sufficient paintings to submit as my portfolio for an oil painting exhibition. When I need to look for a proposed title, I notice I already had a 3D art exhibition in 2007 on 'Our Wold Today'. I could not re-use the same title. Thus I gave it the name 'Our Changing World'.
I sent this exhibition proposal to Ngee Ann Cultural Centre, the cultural arm of the philanthropy organisation Ngee Ann Kongsi. This is the same centre that sponsored my 2007 3D art exhibition. In Dec 2008, I was delighted to be told they also agreed to sponsor this painting exhibition. The scheduled date was Oct 2008.
I thus continued to work hard doing more paintings around this theme 'Our Changing World'. Near Oct 2008, I had to start preparing for an exhibition catalog brochure. In addition to supplying the name and size I followed my previous practice of supplying a short write-up about the background to the painting's content and my about my feeling as the artist. The lengths of these write-ups vary from 30 to 200 words. Sometimes a longer write-up was necessary on contents that normal viewers are not familiar with the content. These serve to educate the viewers.
This may not be a common practice for art exhibitions. But the theme of my exhibition is unusual and required explanation. I am quite happy with doing it this way.
This is the cover of my exhibition brochure.

And here is a typical page from this printing exhibition brochure.
